The Walkerville Artist Co-op displays and sells works of art from over 25 local artists.
Formerly known as The Back Room Gallery Artists’ Co-op, they have moved to 1974 Wyandotte Street East and now operate under the name the Walkerville Artitsts’ Co-op. All of the artists in the co-op pitched in to help create the new space. The location is bright and fresh, with white walls showcasing colourful pieces of artwork. A large window allows the space to be bright and sunny, even on a cold winter day.
Their soft opening was on Friday, February 21 and they will be having their grand opening later in March. Many upcoming events, classes, workshops, and special guest artist displays will be in the works over the next couple of months.
The artists’ works on display include paintings, photography, pottery, candles, jewellery, purses, clothing, wood works, and more. While they currently have 27 artists there are a few open spots remaining, but they are filling up fast. Guests may visit the art gallery to view the beautiful art and everything is available to purchase.
For more information about joining the co-op you can visit their web page or contact them by calling 519-915-3535. You can also visit their Facebook page for more information and updates.
