If you know someone looking to Greece-up their appetite, chances are you should get ’em to The Greek.
Terrible play on words aside, Nick The Greek has been serving food to Windsorites for 22-years. Located on 8474 Wyandotte St. East in Riverside Plaza, the restaurant has Greek, Italian and Canadian dishes.
Music representative of the stores three nationalities plays upon entering the restaurant. Conversation can be heard over top as customers enjoy their food. The welcoming atmosphere is also amplified by Greek tapestry adorning the walls and a photo signed by Windsor-actress Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (who plays Steffy Forrester on The Bold & The Beautiful) – she and her parents are fans of the food.
Speaking of which, the menu has a lot to offer. Appetizers include Feta Skaras, Greek cheese topped with tomatoes, oregano and olive oil – barbecued and served with warm pitas for $7.95. A couple of lunch dishes are authentic gyros and a BLT wrap (grilled bacon, tomatoes and lettuce with mayo and feta cheese sprinkled on top, wrapped in a pita) with fries for $8.95.
For those with a bigger appetite, there are also several entries. Two (of many) that stood out during this visit were the Chicken Lemonato, a seasoned and grilled boneless chicken breast marinated in lemon garlic juices, and Bekri Meze, a pork stir-fry with mushrooms, green peppers, onions, sprinkled with feta and served with warm pitas. Other meals include chicken parmigiana, souvlaki, and baby back ribs.
Being in business for so long, Nick The Greek’s customer service is just as outstanding as their food. Whether you’re looking for a gyro on the go or a big dinner, chances are they’ll have something for you.
