The Tour di Via Italia — Windsor’s only championship cycling race — is this Sunday, registration is open for over $11,000 in prizes and thousands of spectators are expected to line the course bordered by Erie, Parent, Giles and Howard streets.
Sunday’s race is the 52nd annual edition of the event which was originally called the “Tour of Windsor”. Check out our photos of last year’s race to get a feel for what the race is all about. The Tour di Via Italia is accompanied by a brand new event this year. The Windsor Cycling Grand Prix will take place this Saturday at Ford Test Track. The Grand Prix is a youth and experienced cyclist race with over two-thousand dollars in prize money. It’s the first of its kind of events ever to be held at Ford Test Track! The Grand Prix kicks off on Saturday at 11am.
