Windsor firefighters were back on scene in the 800 block of Chatham Street East during the overnight hours. Around 2am, Windsor Police officers stationed at the scene from Monday night’s earlier fire noticed smoke and flames coming from the roof of the burnt-out house.
Firefighters arrived to find flames shooting through the shingles of the roof and were able to contain them in minutes. Firefighters remained on scene for about an hour to check for any remaining hot spots.
The cause of the initial fire on Monday night is suspicious and is still being investigated.
