Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Wednesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 136 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Wednesday. The Health Unit now only reports high-risk cases as testing eligibility is still limited.

Total Cases & Active Cases

Total cases are not available at this time.

There are 695 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 39 cases since yesterday).

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).

  • 353,869 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+149 since yesterday)
  • 336,993 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+274 since yesterday)
  • 181,980 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+465 since yesterday)

Vaccination Percentages

  • 85.7 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
  • 81.7 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
  • 52.0 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)

The Health Unit lists 67 hospitalizations today (decrease of 1), and 9 of those hospitalizations are in the ICU (decrease of 3).
