May 4th, 2010 – A two vehicle collision occurred on Chilver Road between Richmond and Niagara around 9:25pm in Windsor on Tuesday night.
A single occupant was driving a Pontiac Grand Prix northbound on Chilver when the front right side of their car struck the rear left side of a pickup truck parked on the street. It just so happens that the fuel tank of the pickup truck was located on the rear left side of the vehicle.
Fortunately, there was no fire and police on scene confirmed that nobody was injured. Firefighters say that the pickup truck that was struck leaked about half of the fuel in its tank onto the road. An additional fire engine was called to the scene to help flush out the large fuel spill.
Chilver between Richmond and Niagara was shut down for well over an hour as firefighters cleaned up the roadway with water and Zorb-All powder.
