The new public school in LaSalle now has a name.
The new K-8 school, which will replace the current Prince Andrew Public School sometime in the winter of 2020-21, will be known as Legacy Oak Trail Public School.
A committee of Board and school community members considered suggestions and ideas and forwarded the name to Trustees for their consideration.
The committee proposed that the name reflects the natural heritage of the LaSalle area, which is a Carolinian Forest zone, and incorporates a promise to be upheld by future actions of the school community to protect the environment and foster peace, hope and harmony.
The appointment of a general contractor and construction of the school will commence once final approval of the design and budget is received from the Ministry of Education.
