Police are investigating after a VIA train struck a car in Chatham.
It happened around 3pm Sunday on the tracks on Keil Drive South between Richmond Street and Park Avenue West.
First officers on scene, removed the woman from her vehicle and began life saving efforts. The 54-year-old Chatham woman was rushed to the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance where unfortunately she succumbed to her injuries.
No one on the Toronto bound train was inquired, but it was delayed for several hours.
