Coast Guard crews on both sides of the border are searching after two people reportedly fell through the ice near the Ambassador Bridge.
Emergency crews were called just after 1pm to the Detroit River in the area of the bridge and pulled one person from the water.
A US Coast Guard helicopter is assisting in the search for the second person.
