Getting a head start on Halloween, one local business decided to celebrate in style.
From 10am to 5pm, Paper Heroes: Comic Book Lounge & Collectibles (2857 Howard Avenue) was taking part in Halloween Comicfest. Encouraging customers to show off their costumes, those attending were greeted with candy and free comic books.
Essentially a Halloween-themed Free Comic Book Day, it also marked Paper Heroes third anniversary. To ring in the occasion, several items were on sale. This included 40% off all graphic novels, 25% off all toys, statues, collectibles, artwork, clothing and back issues not reserved, on hold or layaway.
Saturday was the last chance customers had to enter a raffle for a Dark Knight III: The Masterrace Batman statue that retails for of $199.99. Starting a new raffle for the holidays, people could also pay $2 for a ticket or $5 for three to win an Xbox One — this will continue until a winner is drawn on Thursday, December 22nd.
