Big Brothers Big Sisters of Windsor Essex has been granted accreditation for having successfully met the review of standards outlined by the national governing body, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada.
The Accreditation certificate is granted upon approval of agency practices in the areas of child safety, service delivery, and organizational excellence. Organizational excellence includes a consultative process with agency volunteers, parents and board members, assurance of sound fiscal management practices, and agency strategic planning.
The national Accreditation program is conducted by professionally trained accreditors who must complete Accreditation training provided by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada. Each BBBSC member agency is Accredited every five years. Agencies also participate in a mid-term evaluation as an interim measure ensuring adherence to National Standards and organizational excellence.
“Our agency is proud of our commitment to the provision of mentoring services for children throughout Windsor Essex”, said Executive Director, John Sutton. “The Accreditation process validates our devotion to deliver services that put child safety first while maximizing the use of both personal and fiscal resources”, Sutton stated.
