The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office will continue their investigation into massive fire on Erie Street on Friday.
Fire officials say the blaze appears suspicious but is not being considered an arson at this time.
Firefighters were called to the building that housed the Masaya Cafe on the main floor as well as residential units on the second floor around 3:15am and found heavy fire coming from the building.
As firefighters attempted to enter the building the fire quickly spread to the second floor and broke thought the roof, and fire crews had to pull out.
Two aerial trucks were used to fight the flames and close to a dozen fire units.
The fire was brought under control around 6am.
Power had been knocked out to 2,600 homes and businesses in the area for about two hours.
Damage is set at $500,000.
