When spotlights are on athletes at the big game, one Forest Glade establishment shines.
Far from parking garages and crowds downtown, Rack n’ Roll Club Bar & Grill (3087 Forest Glade Dr.)has served customers for decades. With pool tables, woodwork and murals showcasing the likes of Tony Soprano, the casual venue creates a laid-back atmosphere with great service for many occasions.
With several TVs and a big screen, Rack covers events from the Super Bowl to WrestleMania. A DJ is present on weekends and they’re open to people of all ages during the day.
Their most impressive feature isn’t immediately obvious however, as it lies in the food. With a ridiculous variety, including a kids menu, the sports bar &grill’s selection puts others to shame.
One of their many signature appetizers is pizza fries – fried strips of pizza dough with sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon & pepperoni. If you want something more substantial, they also have full meals: Unique wraps include the Rack n’ Roll wrap, filled with chopped beef, lettuce, mixed cheese, onions, pickles and special sauce.
Moving up the food chain, specialty foot-long hot dogs are available, including the LA dog (with mustard, sourkraut, bacon and cheese) and All dressed dogs are topped with relish, onions, mustard and coleslaw. Eight oz. burgers also come on a sesame seed bun with unusual varieties like the BOMB burger (bacon, onions, mushrooms and bell peppers) and the Minnesota Fats for $9.99 with fries and coleslaw.
For sharing, 12” R n’ R pizza pies are $19.09. Among them is the Pulled Pork pie, which is topped with mozzarella cheese, pulled pork, mushrooms, onions and bbq sauce. Entrees include the Rack n’ Roll ribs and wings, tuscan chicken and New York Angus strip steak.
