There are changes at the top of both the Windsor Essex Community Health Centre and The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County.
Nancy Brockenshire is leaving Hospice to take on the role of Executive Director at Windsor Essex Community Health Centre (weCHC).
“On behalf of the board, we congratulate Nancy on her new role at weCHC,” said Mary Beth Valentine, Hospice Board Chair. “We are grateful for Nancy’s dedication and leadership, and we wish her every success in this exciting new chapter.”
In light of Nancy’s departure, The Hospice Board of Directors announces Katharen Bortolin as the new Executive Director, effective May 10th, 2024. Bortolin is currently the Director of Community Engagement and Advancement at The Hospice, overseeing fundraising, donor relations, and communications for the organization, a position she has held successfully for the past five years.
Bortolin holds two degrees from the University of Windsor—an Honours Bachelor of Arts and Social Science, and a Masters of Business Administration. She also holds the Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE) designation. In 2018, she was named to the Top 40 Leaders Under 40 list by Leadership Windsor-Essex, highlighting her leadership abilities and dedication to her community. Additionally, she is the 2021 recipient of the Odyssey Award from the University of Windsor Alumni Association.
