Erie Shores HealthCare is urging people to remain cautious as COVID cases spike in the region. The Hospital says they are currently at 122% occupancy.
Two days ago, the Hospital says they had no positive or suspected COVID cases. Today, there are five confirmed COVID-positive patients, four being treated primarily for the virus.
This morning they had 12 people in the Emergency Department waiting for a bed and limited beds available for patients who come for treatment.
They warn that people requiring treatment in the ED today should expect significantly increased wait times and seek treatment elsewhere if appropriate. Care options are available on the Emergency Department Alternatives web page.
“If attending ESHC, we want to remind people that our frontline staff have been working hard to serve the community for 2.5 years of this pandemic, are tired and short-staffed, and we encourage you to treat Hospital employees with the respect and patience that they deserve,” a release from the Hospital stated.
