The City of Windsor’s Chief Administrative Officer is leaving.
Jason Reynar is departing his role as CAO, effective Friday, April 1st, 2022, the City announced Friday afternoon.
“It has been my honour and privilege to serve the residents of this community,” said Reynar. “I am very proud of the hard work and resiliency City staff have demonstrated over this last year.”
Reynar was hired to replace outgoing CAO Onorio Colucci in January 2021 and over the past year initiated several city projects including implementation of the Windsor Works economic diversification plan, the realignment of City administration to focus on innovation and economic development, work on a municipal investment attraction package to help secure the LG-Stellantis joint-venture battery production facility, and the facilitation of investments in affordable housing, the City says.
“This past year has presented many challenges,” said Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens. “Under Jason’s leadership, administration rose to meet those challenges with professionalism and dedication. I wish Jason nothing but the best for his future endeavors.”
The City says individual members of the corporate leadership team will step into the role in a temporary basis, and retired CAO Onorio Colucci will return in an acting capacity.
The City says a formal recruitment will begin soon.
