The province of Ontario is removing mask mandates on March 21st, except for in a limited number of settings.
The announcement was made Wednesday morning by Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore.
Moore says starting March 21st, masks will no longer be required in restaurants, retail, bars, gyms, schools, grocery stores, and other indoor settings in Ontario. He says individuals can continue to wear masks if they choose, and those continuing to do so should not be targeted for their decisions.
“I hope that anyone who remains vulnerable will continue to wear a mask,” Moore said.
Moore says masks will still be required on public transit, long-term care and retirement homes, hospitals and healthcare facilities, jails and congregate care and living settings until the end of April.
