The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 43 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Friday.

New & Total Cases

The Health Unit says 16 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 7 cases are community acquired, 1 case is travel related, 1 case is outbreak related, and the acquisition sources of 18 cases are still under investigation.

They say 261 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex (no net increase/decrease since yesterday).

Variants of Concern

The Health Unit says 4,673 preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases have been identified to date (increase of 27 since yesterday).
