The Downtown Windsor BIA was presented with the Windsor Essex County Health Unit’s Organizational Responsibility Award, part of the WECHU’s Healthy Workplace Awards 2021.
“To be recognized for our commitment to support the health, safety and well-being of our community in response to the pandemic is an honour,” said DWBIA Chair Brian Yeomans. “Keeping our members and community in mind, we’ve done everything possible to promote a positive public image for our businesses and workplaces in the city centre.”
The Organizational Social Responsibility Award also acknowledges that the DWBIA has gone above and beyond to support the entire community’s efforts in the continued reduction and prevention of the spread of COVID-19.
The DWBIA has whenever possible implemented strict safety protocol, including providing all vendors with full PPE as well as to their visitors; erecting extensive signage; conducting pre assessment screenings for all volunteers, visitors and staff; providing antigen tests for vendors and anyone else who may need to use them; and migrated much of our programming to digital platforms.
The provision of such support, which continues to be in high demand, ensures that downtown businesses are supported and guided.
