Work is getting underway on the new Jackson Park greenhouse complex.
Located at the south end of the park on McDougall, the complex will consist of an administration building, greenhouses, and a storage building.
The new build will replace the ageing Lanspeary park complex. That will be torn down and replaced with green space.
The city is also looking at options to replace the baseball diamond at Jackson Park the complex is being constructed on.
The total cost of the project is $7.25 million.
