1 New Death, 228 New Cases Of COVID-19 In Windsor Essex On Sunday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 228 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Sunday, bringing the local total to 9,673.
Today’s New Cases
Cases increased from 9,445 on Saturday January 9th to 9,673 on Sunday January 10th and 2,641 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex.
The Health Unit says 13 cases are outbreak-related, 16 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 3 cases are community acquired, and 196 cases are still being investigated by the Health Unit’s nursing staff.
Recoveries
The Health Unit lists 6,822 total recoveries.
That’s an increase of 90 recoveries today.
Deaths
There has been one new death from COVID-19 as of today bringing the local death toll to 210.
The Health Unit says a woman in her 80’s residing in a long-term care home passed away.
Hospitalizations
The Health Unit lists 92 hospitalizations today: 74 people in acute care (4 less today), and 18 (3 more today) people in the ICU with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
