The Windsor Essex County Health Unit has confirmed 35 new cases of COVID-19 as of Saturday, bringing the local total to 1,656. They say 994 people locally have recovered.
Cases increased from 1,621 on Friday July 3rd to 1,656 on Saturday July 4th.
The Health Unit says 20 of the 35 cases are from the agri-farm sector, 2 cases are healthcare workers, 12 cases are community based, and 1 case is still under investigation.
There have been no additional deaths due to COVID-19 as of Saturday and the local death toll stands at 68.
The Health Unit says Devonshire Retirement Residence and Extendicare Tecumseh remain under outbreak.
As of Saturday, the Health Unit says four workplaces are under outbreak with two or more cases each. Two workplaces in Leamington and two workplaces in Kingsville remain under outbreak.
