The Town of LaSalle is cancelling a number of events into July due to COVID-19.
Food Truck Friday scheduled on July 17th is cancelled as well as the LaSalle Night Market scheduled on July 26th.
Town of LaSalle owned soccer fields and baseball/softball diamonds are closed at this time. When Windsor-Essex County moves into Stage 2 of the Province of Ontario’s Framework, the use of the soccer fields and the baseball/softball diamonds will be reassessed.
The splash pad at the Vollmer Complex is closed at this time.
In addition, the LaSalle Outdoor Pool, located on Front Road at Laurier Drive, will not be opened to the public this summer. Newly introduced requirements around physical distancing while in the outdoor pool building and the limit on social gatherings make it difficult to invite patrons to swim the town says.
Prior to opening any public pool, the lifeguards will also need to be retrained due to new lifesaving guidelines, and there are new requirements for personal protective equipment for lifeguards. The Public Works Department will be removing the cover from the outdoor pool this week. They will be making some minor repairs to the pool and testing the mechanical equipment to ensure all is working properly.
Town of LaSalle administration will focus on the indoor pool at the Vollmer Complex to ensure that all physical requirements, training and procedures are in place for an opening date that is to be determined.
