The 11th Anniversary Mayor Gary McNamara Charity Golf Tournament presented a total of $45,000 to 19local organizations.
The main beneficiary the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Foundation were presented with a cheque for $23,000 towards their Bursaries Program which provides financial assistance to youth pursuing a post-secondary education.
“We are thrilled to earmark the majority of this year’s proceeds for bursaries to youth pursuing their post-secondary education,” said McNamara. “Through these bursaries, adolescents benefiting from our donation will be empowered to grow to their full potential as active members in the community and we are delighted to provide funding to help unlock their potential and contribute to their personal growth and development.”
The remaining $22,000 was shared among an additional 18 community organizations.
Over the past 11 years, the Mayor’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament has raised over $365,000, benefitting a long list of worthwhile causes in Tecumseh and the Windsor-Essex region.
