Doug Sweet has been appointed as Deputy Chief Administrative Officer in Essex.
Sweet has served the Town as the Director, Community Services, since 2013 and Director of Parks and Recreation from 2004 to 2008. He also served as Manager of Arenas and the WFCU Centre for the City of Windsor. Doug replaces Chris Nepszy, who has taken on the CAO role.
“Doug has a depth of experience which has benefitted the Town for over ten years,” said Chris Nepszy, Chief Administrative Officer. “He has demonstrated a keen ability to lead his department, which has grown to include Essex Fire and Rescue Services, and we look forward to his continued leadership in his role as Deputy CAO.”
In the position, Doug will work closely with the CAO and be responsible for providing corporate leadership and oversight of all Town operations. The Deputy CAO will contribute to strategic decision-making, coordinate interdepartmental programs and projects, and fill in as CAO during absences. Doug will continue his work as Director, Community Services.
