The restoration of Windsor’s Streetcar No. 351 is almost complete, and the city is now making plans for it to be the focal point of the Celestial Beacon located close to the University of Windsor at the foot of Sunset and within the Windsor Sculpture Park.
They have launched a fundraising campaign to help raise funds for the cost of the enclosure that will house it.
The “Preserve & Protect” fundraising campaign has a goal of $100,000 within 351 days with $20,000 raised to date.
A new website has been launched that will provide background, updates and videos on the restoration project, as well as options to purchase t-shirts and contribute to the campaign through online donation access.
