Amherstburg Police say that there is no public safety concerns after a suspicious package was found at a residence on Seymour Street.
Police say that the package was discovered under the a front porch and after reading some information on the internet, the complainant believed that the package was radioactive.
As a precaution, police secured the area and contacted the Windsor Fire Services Hazardous Materials Unit to attend the scene.
After verifying several different readings related to the package, Windsor Fire Services determined the package was inert and there was no risk for public safety.
The package is to be disposed of.
