The City of Windsor is about to take the first step in a process that could see traffic problems on Tecumseh Road West at the rail crossings fixed.
Later this year, the city will issues a request for proposals for an environmental assessment to be carried out on the section of Tecumseh Road from south of Crawford Avenue to Janette Avenue.
The study will address the railway crossings including consideration for grade separation at these locations. It will also study roadway geometrics that are currently classified as inefficient, and suggest opportunities for improvements.
Once a consultant has been selected City Council will be provided with the costs associated.
Any future capital costs resulting from the study will be subject to future City Council consideration and approval within future capital budgets.
