Korda Artistic Productions has received $35,595 in funding from the Government of Canada’s Canada Summer Jobs Program that will go toward the hiring of 10 theatre apprentice student positions for Korda’s innovative “Extension-Korda Summer Sessions”.
The provides students with the opportunity to take over The KordaZone Theatre, for a full summer of programming. From Summer Theatre Camps and Cabaret Nights, to full-scale productions – both inside and outside of the theatre – the student theatre artists take on the challenge of writing, producing, directing, marketing and presenting a summer of theatrical mayhem.
For this project, Korda Founder Tracey B. Atin serves as Mentor and Project Lead, with the students working under the Extension-Korda brand; the youth arm of Korda Artistic Productions, offering young theatre artists the opportunity to develop their skills and creativity under the mentorship of experienced members of Korda Artistic Productions.
