Detour Alert: River Canard Bridge To Close For Construction

The bridge over River Canard between LaSalle and Amherstburg will be closed for bridge rehabilitation beginning Monday, June 6th, 2016.
Work planned includes jack hammer concrete removal and concrete build out with steel reinforcement on the 22 vertical supports. The underside of the deck requires sand blasting of steel members and industrial paint application. There are approximately 20 locations under the deck that require jack hammer removal of delaminated concrete and construction with new concrete.
Front Construction won the tender process for a total amount of $495,221.24.
The closure is expected to last until September 2nd, 2016.
Malden Road (County Road 3) in LaSalle will be open during the bridge rehabilitation.
To detour around the bridge closure, take Front Road (County Road 20) to Middle Side Road (County Road 10) to Howard Avenue (County Road 9). The detour route will be posted.
