Music returns to Essex this summer.

The 2nd Annual Essex Summer Music Series kicks off on June 8th.

Sixteen musical acts are set to perform over the course of 25 evenings at two outdoor locations, Mondays at Colchester Harbour Park in Colchester Centre and Wednesdays at Heritage Gardens Park in Essex Centre.

“This year’s lineup is incredibly diverse,” says Doug Sweet, Director of Community Services. “Musical genres range from classical to Celtic, country, rock, folk, blues and jazz.”

What’s Up Doc opens the music series in Essex Centre on Wednesday, June 8th during the Essex Rocks and Rolls event, a car and motorcycle cruise-in starting at 5pm in the parking lot behind The Dollar Tree on Wilson Avenue.

The first show in Colchester takes place on Monday, June 13 and features Catharine, an indie rock band from St. Catharines, Ontario.

Be sure to bring your own chair or blanket. Concerts begin at 7:30pm.
