Thyme To Go Catering won the contract after current contractor Catering by Mimo of Koolini’s Inc. provided the city in October with notice of plans to end their contract this year.
A request for proposals was issued and an evaluation committee composed of administrative representatives from Finance, Purchasing, Community Development and Health Services, and Recreation & Culture at the City was established to assess the proposals that were submitted.
After a three stage process, Thyme To Go Catering came out on top.
Thyme To Go Catering is a corporation with sole ownership that opened on Chilver Road in 2012 and has a staff of 18 staff with further servers available as required.
Highlights of their proposal included their Chef is Red Seal Certified Culinary Chef with additional formal training in classical French Cuisine with a secondary specialization in health (raw) foods.
Over the past four years Thyme To Go has catered a multitude of events in excess of 200 attendees with off-site food preparation. Some events have exceeded 600 attendees.
City Council will be asked to approve the contact at their next meeting on Monday, March 7th.
Once signed, the term of the agreement would be for three years, with a three-year renewal option.
