Construction of a new bridge took a big step forward today.
The Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority has opened up a request for qualifications process, looking for a private sector partner for the new Gordie Howe International Bridge.
Respondents will be evaluated on experience and qualifications to deliver and finance complex infrastructure projects, and of approved will move onto the second step of the process, a request for proposals by the end of this year.
The overall process is expected to take up to 18 months.
