A group of local business and professional women have joined forces to create a new organization called the Charity Chix, whose mission is to support worthy charitable causes in the community and around the world.
The inaugural event for the ladies is called Chic @ the City and will feature a fashion show, gourmet appetizers, complimentary valet and fabulous raffle and silent auction prizes.
All funds raised from this event will support Rotary’s upcoming mission to Ghana, Africa and will also benefit the John McGivney Centre. Internationally, funds will be allocated to school supplies, backpacks and malaria prevention mosquito nets for impoverished children, pregnant and nursing mothers in Ghana. Locally funds will be invested into programs at the John McGivney Children’s centre.
The event takes place on Thursday May 7th at 6pm and The City Grill. Tickets are $100. For more information you can call 519-253-0111.
