More changes are coming this weekend for drivers who use Highway 3/Huron Church
Two lanes of Highway 3 eastbound south of E.C. Row Expressway have now shifted onto the new permanent alignment between Labelle Street and the Lambton Road/Grand Marais Road West intersections.
As part of this shift, the Bethlehem Avenue intersection will partially open to traffic in a “right-in/right-out” configuration.
Left-hand turns to Highway 3 westbound will not be permitted.
Residents from the Spring Garden/Bethlehem areas will now have access to Highway 3 eastbound (Huron Church Road southbound).
The left-hand turn lane from Highway 3 eastbound to Labelle Street and the left-hand turn lane from Labelle Street to Highway 3 eastbound will be closed. Parents and school staff who normally access Highway 3 eastbound at Labelle Street are asked to find alternate routes for access. These lane closures are anticipated to be in effect for a minimum of two months.
Portions of the permanent Parkway opening as part of this shift include parts of two new intersections and the eastbound Highway 3 overpass (Bridge 7). The top of the Labelle Tunnel (T-2) carries the Bethlehem/Highway 3 intersection (Highway 3 eastbound) and a portion of the Labelle/Highway 3 intersection (Highway 3 westbound). Both intersections will be connected over the Labelle Tunnel once this section is complete.
