Construction is in full swing at the site of a new Marshalls store, Dollar Tree and Jysk, behind Devonshire Mall.
Back in February, Rock Developments erected two signs advertising the planned openings. Work began this spring to demolish unneeded parts of the old Home Depot building that the new stores will be replacing.
A Marshalls location for Windsor falls in line with the company’s recent expansion and grand openings in Victoria, Winnipeg, Moncton, Dartmouth, Niagara on the Lake, Vaughan and Regina.
The company is owned by TJX, which also operates T.J. Maxx, HomeGoods, HomeSense and Winners in Canada and the US.
A new Dollar Tree will mark the company’s fourth location in Windsor. The US chain expanded its presence in Canada recently and opened stores on Huron Church, Walker Road and most recently, at Tecumseh and Lauzon Parkway.
Rock Developments is also planning to put a Jysk location at the site.
The new stores, located on 100,000 square foot of space, are expected to open in the spring of 2015.
