Huron Lodge Long Term Care Facility has a new Administrator.
Alina Sirbu joins the Community Development and Health Services Department under the leadership of Commissioner Jelena Payne. The appointment is effective July 28, 2014.
The city said in a release that after an extensive search and interview process, and in accordance with the requirements for an Administrator under the Long-Term Care Homes Act, 2007, Ms. Sirbu was chosen due to her extensive managerial experience and over ten years of experience in the long term care field. She has held both operational and administrative positions in the long term care sector and has experience in both union and non-union environments. Most importantly, Ms. Sirbu recognizes that Huron Lodge is the home of more than 200 residents, and she approaches all aspects of the job of Administrator with care, compassion and a focus on the residents and their families.
Prior to entering the long term care sector, Ms. Sirbu worked with the Children’s Aid Society and Salvation Army, and she also taught primary school.
Ms. Sirbu currently sits on several regional committees pertaining to health and long term care.
