Renovation Contractor Jumped By Five Men

Windsor Police are looking to identify five suspects after a contractor was attacked while working at an apartment building.
On Wednesday around 11am Windsor Police received a call for an assault in progress at an apartment unit in the area of Ouellette Avenue and Ellis Street.
Officers went to the apartment unit which was undergoing renovations. Inside the unit officers located the 41 year old victim and his working partner. Both men had been hired to renovate the apartment unit.
Police say the men were working in the back room of the unit. Suddenly 5 male suspects appeared and began to assault the victim and accused him of stealing their property.
The victim told police that he was struck several times with a bar stool and a crowbar. The other worker was not injured during the incident. Prior to fleeing the apartment unit, one of the suspects took the victim’s cell phone from his pocket.
The victim was transported to hospital for non life threatening injuries including broken ribs, a cut to his forehead and a possible broken jaw.
