Grace Hospital: Demolition Starts At Rear Of Main Building

Work began two months ago clearing the site of the former Grace Hospital. Since then the carpenter shop, laundry shop, boiler house and former nursing residence have been demolished.
Crews continue to remove designated substances from the main building. Demolition has begun at that building on the west side and will continue from the north and south sides. Crews will finish by taking down the centre seven storey section of the main building. Once all of the buildings are down, the Contractor will remove all footings and foundations and level the site.
The project is expected to be complete by the beginning of August.
