The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association announced today that they are forming a Neighbourhood Committee comprised of representatives from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission Ontario; City Council; Windsor Police Services; the City Administration; the Downtown Residents Association; the University of Windsor and St. Clair College.
The Committee’s goal is to bring and maintain business in the core through the creation of a strong, successful and safe work, live, study and play environment in downtown Windsor. The Committee aims to achieve its goal by encouraging active citizenry and fostering stronger community bonds with public agencies, educational institutions, residents and the business community.
The Neighbourhood Committee will connect with and make recommendations on the needs and aspirations of the businesses, residents, students and visitors in downtown Windsor, and some of the projects earmarked include exit strategies, cleanliness and garbage removal, loitering, and lighting.
“The Committee promotes neighbourliness, harmony and cohesiveness amongst those would live, work, study and play in Downtown Windsor,” Larry Horwitz, Chair of the Neighbourhood Committee and Chair of the DWBIA, said in a news release.
