Interim Commander Named for Essex County OPP

A new interim Detachment Commander takes over the Essex County Ontario Provincial Police next week.
Current Commander Inspector Rick Derus has taken a Deputy Chief Position with Windsor Police and begins that posting next week, after serving nearly thirty years with the OPP, the last six of which, he was Detachment Commander of Essex County.
Inspector Glenn Miller, will step in on an interim basis, until a permanent replacement can be found. Inspector Miller brings over 30 years of policing experience to Essex County.
“I am committed to ensuring the safety and security for all citizens of Essex County. This interim position will be a seamless transition until such time as the successful incumbent is selected. It is an honour and pleasure to lead the talented women and men who make up Essex County OPP.” – Interim Detachment Commander Inspector Miller.
