One of Windsor’s tiniest parks, Jubilee Park in Walkerville, has gotten a makeover and a little bit of tender, loving care.
The Walkerville Business Improvement Area, in collaboration with the City of Windsor and Leadership Windsor Essex are announcing the revitalization of Jubilee Park.
Construction crews paved a brand new walking path through the postage-stamp-sized park and further upgrades will include “historic” lighting, new benches, an outdoor chess board, mural signage explaining the history of Walkerville and a community bulleting board.
This park is a centrepiece of the Walkerville commercial district, explain organizers. They point out its iconic, historic clock as being the staple of the park and plan to “sustain Hiram Walker’s original vision in building and maintaining a wonderful and vibrant neighbourhood”.
