Want to experience Amherstburg’s mysterious past? Every Friday and Saturday evenings, now through Halloween, you can take a ghostly guided walking tour through Amherstburg’s historic downtown. The tour will walk you through the Navy Yard, and tells tales from the local past. Hear all about the creepy things that have happened in the public buildings of Amherstburg and learn some famous legends from the area.
You will learn the famous story of how Bulloch’s Tavern came to be haunted, and will hear about the woman who drowned herself when her husband didn’t return from the War of 1812 and how her ghost is said to still be lurking in the Navy Yard. Discover how the spirit of Chief Tecumseh appears, sometimes, when the mists hang heavy over the river
Tours leave from the fountain at the Amherstburg Town Square (Dalhousie and Richmond) every Friday and Saturday at 8:30pm sharp. Space is limited, so arrive early. Admission is $8 for adults and $4 for children.
