The City of Windsor will be a host city for displaced citizens in Northern Ontario where wildfires are burning out of control. Thousands of residents of First Nations communities have been evacuated to Thunder Bay but accommodations are necessary for thousands more.
Approximately 150 evacuees will arrive in Windsor between midnight and noon tomorrow and will be given temporary lodging at St. Clair College’s dormitories, according to Emergency Management Ontario.
Evacuees headed to Windsor are heading first to Thunder Bay, then will fly to Toronto where they’ll catch buses bound for Windsor.
