“Once I graduate, I’m gone.”

That’s a common thought amongst students attending the University of Windsor and St. Clair College, and an alarming statement to anyone hoping to see Windsor/Essex succeed at moving forward with a talented workforce.

Workforce WindsorEssex and the Windsor/Essex Economic Development Corporation have put together a 5-minute, anonymous survey for University of Windsor students that asks questions such as ‘if you are planning to leave Windsor when you graduate’ and ‘what are the primary reasons you are likely to stay in the Windsor region after graduation’.

The survey makes a number of suggestions about strategies that may help to retain talent in the area, including increasing affordable living spaces, improving connections between students and professionals, increasing internships and increasing cultural and recreational opportunities for young people, to name a few.
