From Bean to Sprout is a new children and maternity store located at 3749 Tecumseh Road East in the Central Mall Plaza.

The shop opened its doors in June 2015. They accept all seasons of gently used clothing from preemies up to teen size 16/18, and maternity wear. Owner Leslie Headley likes to keep a variety in the store, so customers can obtain hard-to-find items during off-seasons. Out-of-season clothing is especially handy for quickly growing children who may be going on a sunny vacation during Christmas holidays and have already outgrown all their summer clothes.

“In the winter when you’re going on vacation somewhere warm, you can never find summer clothes,” said Headley.

Other items accepted on a consignment basis are gently used baby items, such as baby baths and toddler activity tables, toys, books and movies. The shop also carries many new items created by local vendors, such as children’s hair accessories and bow ties.

“I like to support local,” said Headley.

Another way From Bean to Sprout supports the local community is by partnering with local groups. Their most recent fundraiser helped Family Respite Services. For more information about upcoming fundraisers, sales and specials you can visit their Facebook page. Photos of new items are often posted directly to Facebook with the option of paying over the phone.

From Bean to Sprout is located at 3749 Tecumseh Road East and can be contacted by calling 226-674-2626. They are open Mondays from Noon – 8pm, Tuesdays from 10am – 6pm, Wednesdays from Noon – 8pm, Thursday-Saturday from 10am – 6pm, and Sundays from 11am-4pm.
