The Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch and Unifor Local 200 Human Rights Committee are co-hosting a Pasta Night and Mental Health Fair at the Caboto Club on Wednesday, September 2nd, 2015.
With one in five Canadians personally affected by mental illness during some point in their lifetime, the need to address mental health has never been more important. There are several resources available to those in the Windsor-Essex community that can be accessed by individuals and families dealing with mental illness. Many of these groups will be in attendance at the Mental Health Fair including; Alive! Canada, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, the Unemployment Centre, New Beginnings, Mental Health Connections and more!
“Mental illness affects all of us. Many members of Unifor have personally been affected. We think it is very important to make people aware of the services and support that is available in the community. If you are struggling there are definitely places you can go to for help,” states Cathy Masse, Unifor Local 200 Human Rights Committee member.”
The Mental Health Fair is being held as part of the monthly Caboto Charity Pasta night. CMHA-WECB is one of twelve local charities who benefit from this fundraising event. Attendees are invited to drop by between 4:30-7:30 p.m. to get information from mental health community partners, and also enjoy a pasta dinner.
