Work on the reconstruction of Sandwich Street in West Windsor is about to get underway.
Starting the week of April 15th, 2024, Bridging North America will undertake watermain installation on Sandwich Street between Chappell Avenue and Chewett Street. Completion of the work will require rolling lane closures, temporary parking restrictions and some access restrictions to side streets throughout this stretch of Sandwich Street.
- Chappell Avenue to Prince Road
- Prince Road to South Street
- South Street to Brock Street
- Brock Street to Chewett Street
Using flaggers, sections of Sandwich Street will be reduced to one lane of two-way traffic during the hours of 7:00am to 7:00pm. Two lanes will reopen to traffic during overnight hours.
During construction, access to adjacent residences, businesses and pedestrian walkways will be maintained, and parking on Sandwich Street will not be permitted.
As sections of work are completed, the roadway will reopen to two lanes of traffic. The work is expected to last approximately 2.5 months.
Transit Windsor will have several detours during construction. Those can be found here.
