Bus service is coming to Amherstburg.
Tuesday evening, town council approved a two-year pilot project with Transit Windsor that will see a bus stop in the town three times a day, seven days a week, travelling along Sandwich Street, the Kingsbridge subdivision and the new high school.
The route to Windsor is expected to take 60 minutes.
Transit Windsor is recommending a fare of $4.75 for the Amherstburg route.
The estimated operational expenditure to the Town is $200,000. All fares collected from riders originating in Amherstburg shall be credited 100% to the Town.
Busses will start rolling in September.
