The Downtown Windsor Farmers Market is back for 2022 returning on April 2nd and ending on December 10th and they are looking for vendors.
Now entering its seventh season on Pelissier Street and Maiden Lane West, the market is providing vendors the opportunity to select their commitment times: they can sign up for the full season, half season, part-time or occasional. Applications can be completed online at dwfm.ca; emailed to [email protected]; or mailed to the DWBIA, 484 Pelissier Street, Windsor N9A 4K9.
“There’s been a growing movement to buy local and to seek out quality produce from our very own backyards,” said Steve Green, DWFM’s General Manager. “These rain-or-shine events are always so highly anticipated at the beginning of the spring and summer seasons, and we’re so excited to be able to provide a space for vendors and entrepreneurs to have nearly a year-round space to work, with residents and visitors of the core having access to locally grown, farm fresh products and artisanal goods not readily available at grocery stores.”
“We’ll continue to work closely with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and Farmers Market Ontario to ensure that social distancing measures and safety protocols are in place when the market opens,” DWBIA Chair Brian Yeomans assured “For as long as those measures are required, we’ll respect them, as the Downtown Windsor Farmers’ Market is an integral part of the urban/farm linkage and safety is paramount.”
